Melissa Maples

“No Children” came to me at a time in my life when things were very dark indeed, and it not only validated my feelings, it celebrated them. The Mountain Goats became a major contributing factor to my mental and emotional recovery, and any artist who can do that for me deserves my respect.

Because I can identify with so many of her 43 things, and we appear to have many of the same interests… Also, she’s an ambitious girl who gets things on her life list done.

I want to meet Bruce because I’m doing some commissioned work for him.

I would like to commission a portrait from her.

Shes so productive! Shes the productivest person I know (online counts) and I think it would be cool to hang out and talk crap whilst becoming more and more inebriated until we fall over.

Oh man, we just brought in the new year with the Confessions concert… I can’t think of a better way to rock on in 2007.

This is our year, folks.

I can’t believe Vanessa Marcil wasn’t already here—I had to add her! Anyway, I guess I’m original, heh.

Vanessa is gorgeous. She has the body I want, and she’s four years older than I am, so that keeps me from making the “I’m too old to look that good” excuse. I also think she’s a fantastic actress and in interviews she comes across as extremely intelligent.

I guess the first time we met was in Austin… in 1994 or so. Old skool.

I worked sound for a show of hers in Liverpool in 2002… she was wonderfully cordial and warm in rehearsal, yet professional and intense in performance. The show was amazing.
